Tubo-ovarian AbscessFrom: Kandalaft (kandal@go.com.jo)Sat Nov 25 07:43:53 2000
To Whom this may concern, I am a 35 year old married female, I have three children, and have had a tubal pregnancy about 9 years ago. A very quick summary of what has happened to me lately: I had bleeding, similar to a menstrual period, about 10 days after I had my period( which is very regular). My gynocologist made a vaginal ultrasound and found a cyst which she said would go away and not to worry about. I then got my period about 2 weeks later. At my gynocologists request I visited her on the 4th day of my period so she could check out this cyst once again. It was still there and my gynocologist recommended that I make a pelvic ultrasound . I made this ultrasound on the 5th day of my next period, and this is the report: L.M.P. 20/11/2000 The uterus appears normal in size and achogenicity. It measures 10.4 cm x 4.7 cm x 4.3 cm. No masses were noted ariaing from it. Both ovaries contain multiple small cysts measuring few mm in diameter. The left ovary measures 3.8 cm x 2.3 cm x 1.9 cm. The right ovary measures 3.2 cmx 2.9 cm x 1.8 cm. There is a complex cystic lesion with a thick wall noted in close proximity to the right ovary and may be arising froom the right tube or is a tubo ovarian mass. It measures about 6.9 cm in maximum diameter. Conclusion: Rt. adnexal mass. MRI is advised for better assessment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
