Bradley, RDMS [mailto:jbradle2@columbus.rr.com] Sent: Friday, November 03, 2000 5:33 PM To: Multiple recipients of list SONOGRAPHERS-CONNECTION Subject: Had a " WOW" of a case today. No pictures yet. 32 week gestation, presented to OB attending with toxemia(?) perinatal uls showed pleural effusions, fetal changes(their words not mine). After an emergency c-section, we were called to the nicu to evaluate for aortic thrombosis, perinatologist unable to pass the umbilical catheter more than 5cm's. Low and behold, we find a huge fetal liver hematoma, normal aorta, no pleural effusions. Come to find out later( ain;t it always this way) that during the scan the discussion between the perinatologist and the radiologist , one of them mentioned trauma, well the mother standing right there during the study said " well I did fall on my stomach a few days ago"!!!! AMAZING! I'll post a clip and some images to OB-GYN .net next wek. Have a great w/e everybody and watch out for those electric fences!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
