Ultrasound Pioneer Passes

On October 24, Dr. William M. McKinney, 73 and an internationally known neurologist and pioneer in the use of medical ultrasound, died at home in North Carolina. Dr. McKinney was a former President of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and the American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN), and a former member of the Board of Directors for the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). Dr. McKinney was credited for coining the phrase 'neurosonology', and
