Ultrasound Pioneer Passes On October 24, Dr. William M. McKinney, 73 and an internationally known neurologist and pioneer in the use of medical ultrasound, died at home in North Carolina. Dr. McKinney was a former President of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and the American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN), and a former member of the Board of Directors for the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). Dr. McKinney was credited for coining the phrase 'neurosonology', and

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
