June 25, 1981 was the first day of the JRCDMS site-visit at Weber State University. At that time there were Essentials and Guidelines but the site visitors did not have a formal document to complete and were literally constructing one during the site-visit. I believe WSU's JRCDMS number was either 01 or 02.

I wanted to add to this thread- the MARYLAND INSTITUTE OF ULTRASOUND
TECHNOLOGY (MIUT) started in 1975 as an evening program and then went to a
one year program the following year. It was ONE of the first accredited
programs. (the number used in CAAHEP/JRCDMS data is "3"). It moved to the
University of Maryland, Baltimore County around 1989 and after a couple of
name changes, is what it is today. By the way, it kept the evening program
until I came on board and dropped it in 1994. Too many folks thought that
they were "sonographers" or "registry eligible" by just taking that one 6
month, 2 hour didactic, once a week course. (it was developed, I believe, to
give those doing on the job training a mechanism for getting some didactic
coursework-- I took it in 1976 and taught some courses for it later) I
encouraged folks to instead do the accredited full time program and still ran
CME seminars to assist with that area........
