I meant 'credentials' with the AMA being the accrediting organization. Thus, if this digital ID becomes widely accepted by people and software applications then it would prove that the physician online is who they really say they are. That is why Intel is pushing this along with medical application and websites companies. They want to set the standard for verifying and accepting a physicians electronic credentials so that it would increase the value of their online services.
