Over the next 2 months I will be testing the "Q-Phone " made by Qualcomm (see the Q-phone web site: http://www.qualcomm.com/cdma/phones/portables/theq/theq.html for more specific information about this pure digital CDMA phone.)I have high hopes for the use of this product for doctors. If all works as I hope, this device (which you can wear on your belt just like a pager) may evolution the way we communicate with our practices. Best case scenario, we may be able to replace our pager, answering service, and cellular phone with a single device. Not only will this add convenience to our lives, but I anticipate a tremendous cost savings with increased efficiency as compared with what we currently are using. In addition, the future prospects for this device will allow us to get our e-mail on the phone screen directly without the use of a PC, laptop, or PDA.
The phone is not available in all markets at this time, so not all of you will be able to obtain it in the immediate future. If you have PrimeCo or Sprint CDMA digital services in your area, contact them for more information.
I will keep you updated in as I use this device. At the end of my evaluation, I will formally report on the phone in an article for general release. If you have any questions for me while I am testing the phone, feel free to e-mail me and I will address specific questions.
