I have been working diligently on the development of a universally accepted EMR for the Ob-Gyn physicians and allied health workers for the past 3 years. It has been a long, frustrating and difficult undertaking, to say the least. I am very excited about this group from ObGyn.net who share my dreams and interest in the EMR. The ultimate goal, I feel, should be the development of a universally accepted standard which could easily function as a national data bank collection depository for clinical outcomes analysis. This was Dr. Frigelletto's goal in his ACOG presidential term from 1996-1997. It seems to have died on the vine at this time, and we need to revive it. I have been working with several hardware and software vender (including Compaq, Microsoft, Physix, Siemans to name only a few) in an effort to achieve this mammoth goal I will be keeping you updated on a regular basis. Feel free to offer any suggestions or directions to any new technologies you might happen to come across. It is going to be en exciting journey to the new Millennium! All the best
