Dear Sir,

Based on the success of new generation of Medicated Devices such as Mirena, I am currently doing an overview of the Drug-Device Combinations (or drug-releasing devices) used in gynecology. So I would like to have your point of view on these different aspects :

- In your opinion, what are the main marketed drug-releasing devices ?

- Are theses Drug-Device combinations used mainly as contraceptive ? Is there any second indication concerning these devices, on menopause or on any uterine pathology (abnormal bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, uterine or cervical cancer, …) ? Medical devices such as Norplant, Implanon, … are they although recognized as drug-releasing devices ? And for which indications ?

- What are the research axes on these devices ? Are they mainly on the shape of the device (such as the frameless Gynefix device) or are they focused on emergent indications ?

- What are in your opinion the therapeutic performances of these drug-device combinations ? Are they really promising in gynecology ? Are these Drug-Device combinations a new trend to treat uterine pathologies ?

- I already identify 2 new Drug Device Combinations used respectively in urge incontinence (UROS) and as HRT (Gynefix-LNG). What do you think of this both products, and are they the last generation of Drug-Device combination ? If not, what are the main Drug Device Combinations in development ?

It will be very helpful if you could give me your comments on these different questions. If you need further information, do not hesitate to contact me.

Your sincerely
