Correct in theory, but wrong in practice for most people in most parts of the country. When you use cable-based DSL connections, you are sharing your line with everyone else on your cable drop, and limited by THAT LINE's CAPACITY. When you use phone line DSL, your copper goes all the way to the DSLAM; the phone company won't hook up more people to that DSLAM than they can serve. The cable company allocated cable based on distributing x number of one-way channels to video receivers on the other end, not by calculating how many of their subscribers would be using high speed Internet connections.I do NOT, however, endorse popping other people's balloons, nor writing on their garages!

Definitely cute but bogus from a network perspective.
Networking *is* sharing.
Hey guys, just what do you think goes on at the DSL Access Multiplexor (DSLAM) at the termination of your DSL line?
What matters is overall network capacity and architecture, not what kind of wire is used to get to your house! ...
