HCG levels - Scared to death

I posted back in Novemeber if it's any help explaining my situation. Had m/c at 11 weeks in March '99. I had hysteroscopy on 11/8 to remove scarring. Period started 11/9, very "healthy", lasted about 5 days. Doc put me on Premarin for 21 days 2.5mg once a day. Next period started approx. 12/6. Not sure because it was VERY scant. Took two HPTs which were negative around 12/9. Started second round of Premarin, same dose, on 12/12. Period was due 12/27, again VERY scant. HPT this time was positive. Got blood test today, HCG was at 237. Doc is on vacation, but nurse says number is "low" but indicates at least 4 to 6 weeks along. My question is, is this number too low, too high or okay? Had VERY light staining yesterday and today, very mild cramping today. Is this another miscarriage threatening? Were the last two "periods" not periods? I am very scared.
