Two weeks late - neg. tests

The date of my last period was 11\16\99. I am usually regular at 28 days - I am now 14 days late for my period. I tested on day 29, got neg. result - tested again 1 week later as test package instuctions directed - neg. result again. Called Dr.'s office as instructed 1 week after that - at the two week late mark. Told by nurse to test again and call her back. Tested again (at two week late mark)and got third neg. test. The tests were all from different manufacturer's purchased at different stores so it doesn't appear I got a faulty test batch. Will call Doctor again with third neg. result and make appointment for a visit as his nurse suggested.

My two questions are:

1. My son is 19 months old and has been nursed since birth. When he was 6 months old my period returned as he was getting much of his nourishment from solid foods. He still continued to nurse but in the last month or so he has wanted to nurse much more frequently. Is it possible this increased nursing is stopping my period again????

2. What else could cause late such a late period? I did have extensive testing after a third miscarriage in June - that was suspected of being a molar pregnancy - it was not but due to tissues found in the products of conception my Doc wanted to be sure - also, due to three miscarriages, other tests were done to see what could be the cause - so between all the blood work, biopsy's, ultra sounds, hysteroslingpingograms (SP?) etc, etc. that showed all was in order, I feel confident that nothing is wrong with my reproductive system. Any thoughts on what could cause such a late period which certain appears not to be caused by pregnancy.

Thank you very much.
