Very common.

If by normal you mean will they go away - no. They never go away but be not noticable in a few weeks.

Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) soaks help as can over the counter therapies. Some have tried very cold Milk of Magnesia applied several times a day. A strong cortisone cream may also be helpful. If all else fails, consult a proctologist. Sometimes, the hemorrhoids get clots in them (thrombosed hemorrhoid) and these need surgical intervention.
