I answered this but don't see it on the site so I'll re-answer it. Sorry the first response got cyber-confused.

The cervix doesn't "open" unless one of the following is noted - bleeding is very heavy, clots are being passed, aborting of pregnancies or fibroids (yes, they can abort too!).

The cervical os (opening) can be a millimeter or two more open at some times than others. That is normal. The pill has no special properties in that regard.
