High Blood Pressure During PregnancyFrom: Dowayne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 10 Dec 1999 15:58:02 -0600 (CST)
My girlfriend is having her 3rd child. Her first was born by induced labor at around 31 weeks due to preclampsia. Her 2nd was born at around 34 weeks by induced labor because of borderline preclampsia. She is now at almost 32 weeks and has been having high blood pressure for about 2-3 days is she is doing anything besides laying down. She went to the doctor today and they said her blood pressure was 150 over 80 but just deal with it and keep working. We both feel that she and/or the baby may be at risk if nothing is done. We are unsure what to do because she is too far along to switch doctors now but we don't agree with what the doctor told her. She is also having back pain since 3 days ago which they said was normal with swelling in her hands. Any help that we could get would be greatly appreciated. If you may be able to provide suggestions I am willing to entertain any thoughts you may have please email me.
