Dilantin is approved by the AAP (Americian Academy of Pediatrics) for use in breastfeeding mothers.

The amount secreted into breastmilk is small and the effects to the infant are minimal.

Please refer to Mediations and Mothers milk http://neonatal.ttuhsc.edu/lact/, Thomas Hale, PhD, eighth edition for extensive information on medication in milk. We must remember the risk vs the benefit, formula is a drug too and the risks of formula.

According to the PDR, there are no safe medications to take when breastfeeding.........
