Effects of? Re: Blood SugarFrom: AnnMarie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 24 Nov 1999 02:02:12 -0600 (CST)
Well, I did call and was blown off by the nurse. To her the only problem here is that I am not eating enough. Even though for some reason I actually feel the symptoms AFTER a good meal by an hour or maybe two?? And if I miss a snack as I first experienced yesterday? Emergency Coke and I drove home in my new car just fine. I snack frequently and my meals are actually consisting of food and not just a Coke to drink. Even with my first preg I would eat plenty and it would still happen sometimes. This time around I think it's more frequent. Not sure it ever really left comepletely after first daughter's birth. Have always gotten palp's/shakes from some super-carb candies. So much for that. Anyway...I know and I've seen too much to know what having uncontrolled diabetes leads to. What can happen with the opposite of having low blood sugar? And couldn't it affect the baby more in the first trimester? Oh, and while I'm at it, one more thing, please? Isn't it possible that the blood levels rise too high (like diabetes), then to compensate the body just releases too much insulin or releases it too fast? There have been a few people w/diabetes in my family and I think I read about a type like this. Or am I thinking too much? AM
