Albuterol InhalersFrom: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 22 Nov 1999 15:58:50 -0600 (CST)
I am trying to conceive and might possibly be pregnant at this point, thought barely. I have been taking albuterol or some type of inhaler as long as I can remember and I am now 30. I use the inhaler once or twice a day when tightness or weezing occurs. I do not suffer from asthma attacks. It is simply to keep my allergies under control and open my airways when they begin to tighten. I am not sure how I would do without the inhaler, but I do not want to cause my baby to be born with physical and/or mental birth defects. I know it is a Pregnancy Class C drug, but I'm not sure what that means. My physician(s) know that I am planning to conceive and they obviously know that I am taking the albuterol inhaler, but neither of them have recommended stopping the drug? Can you please provide me with information and advise. Thanks, Jennifer
