An infection 2 weeks post delivery with a vaginal delivery (I'm presuming since you didn't mention C/S) is unusual.

Retained clot got infected or retained placenta with clot got infected (please note - this last point is purely conjecture and not a definitive diagnosis since retained placenta is possible and infection is uncommon). Sounds like the uterus finally extruded the clot.

This may be normal but with a "humongous" clot, an infection and continued bleeding, a sonogram may be in order to evaluate the lining of the uterus.

Non-specific finding. Can be from a vaginal infection - bacterial vaginosis in particular can cause such an odor (moreso if in contact with the lab chemical potassiium hydroxide - the so called "whiff" test).

If you're concerned, you call. That's YOUR job. the doctor's job is to figure this all out and explain it so you can understand it and take part in your health maintainence (not to be confused with a health maintainence organization (HMO)).
