I am currently working with a 25 year old female who is in her 8th month of pregnancy. She is suppose to be taking 400mg og. of Dilantin/day for seizure activity (as evidenced by an EEG). What, if any are the side effects of continuing the Dilantin while breast feeding. My client does not trust her neurologist, let alone anyone else besides me. We have a professional relationship and she usually trusts the advise I give her. I would really appreciate any help you can give me in regard to this matter.
