Aspirin - Immune System Suppressant?From: Midge (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 13 Nov 1999 09:53:43 -0600 (CST)
I'm just trying to clarify something that I've asked about before but have gotten conflicting answers: I have a low positive ANA 1:80. However, I came up with negative results with anticardiolipin and lupus anticoagulant. My dr. says he could find no correlation between this positive result and my two miscarriages I had in 5 months. I asked him about taking a low dosage of aspirin (81 mg.) and he said it would not be necessary. However, someone else (with this same problem) told me that she was put on aspirin as it works as an immune system suppressant. I am confused! I don't want to take a chance of having another miscarriage if an aspirin a day would prevent my body from rejecting the fetus. What are your thoughts? Is aspirin at all dangerous as a precaution even if it's not necessary? Thanks for your help in advance :-)
