A UTI can cause a kidney infection if left untreated. That would then be bad for mom and baby because it may lead to preterm labor and delivery.

Answered above - preterm labor can cause pregnancy loss. Remeber, only if untreated. If you treat them, you should be fine.

Some people are jsut susceptible during pregnancy for avariety of reasons.
