The Family Leave Act prevents you from being discriminated against because you are sick or pregnant, but your employer only has to hold your job and give you UNPAID time off. They are not required to pay you if you don't work, and if accomodations cannot be made for your physical limitations, they are entitled to put you on sick leave. Depending on your employer, you may have disability pay, or you may not. I have no power over an employer whatsoever. My note merely notifies them of the patient's medical problems and limitations. How they respond to those limitations will be decided by the employer. They can't make you work, and they can't really fire you if you don't, but they don't have to pay you if you don't.
