Hi Sarah,

If you search on this topic you will find several posts from me. My baby had the exact same thing and it was diagnosed at 17 weeks. I was told that it can be an indication of Trisomy 21 however, my baby had choroid plexus cysts as well.

He was born on Oct 13th and his renal pelvis is still dilated. At birth he was given a renal US and was giving a voiding study. They check for increased fluid, and to make sure he was peeing. They also checked fro renal reflux (not sure if that is exact name). He is being seen by a pediatric urologist now. he has another scan at 6-8 weeks to determine if he has a valve problem causing the fluid to back up. If he does he will have to have surgery to correct this.

I was also told that this is more common in boys and to not to worry. It was hard though and I did indeed worry.

If you would like more information you can e-mail me at mccoy@megsinet.net
