However, statistically speaking, breech babies are more likely to have certain abnormalities such as hydrocephalus, tumors, neurologic defects and so on, because these conditions make it harder for the baby to turn to vertex. Note, this applies only to babies that are breech at or near term. All babies are breech on and off during pregnancy, and we don't even think about positioning until 37 weeks or so.
