My doctor and I talked a lot about the HSG because it was happening sooner and I forgot to ask him about the post-coital exam. Will somebody please tell me what is involved in a post-coital exam? My husband and I are supposed to have intercourse in the morning before we go in for the exam but I have no idea what the doctor is going to do. Thank you for any help.

Your doctor will perform a speculum exam to aspirate some of your cervical mucus. This is then inspected under a microscope for living, swimming sperm.
