water immersion and oligohydramnios

I was an OB/GYN resident and am now working in the pharmaceutical industry. I am also pregnant and have been following some discussions on a particular web site. One woman, who is about 22 weeks pregnant, stated that she was diagnosed with oligohydramnios by ultrasound and was told by her midwife to spend thiry minutes a day immersed in a pool. This, she was told by her midwife, would increase her fluid level. I have never heard of this. Can this be true? It seems to me like this is like floating a water balloon in a pool and expecting it to blow up more. Can anyone tell me if this pool immersion is now standard of care?? Thanks.
