I had a C-sec with my daughter (3 yrs ago) at 38 weeks due to a large fibroid blocking the cervix. Like you, the fibroid caused me no problems during the pregnancy. The C-sec was actually pretty easy on me. My OB gave me the same warning about possible hyst. I spoke with my current OB/GYN about removing the uterus during my next C-sec (I hope to have another child - six months of trying so far). He said that it is the worst case scenario to perform a C-sec/hyst because of the large amount of bleeding. He said it is only done if absolutely necessary. In my case, myomectomy is not an option. So, I live with the fibroid (it is large, but symptomless at this point), and will keep trying for another baby.
Good Luck and God Bless your new little one!
Kathy
