Hi Nicole,

Its possible (and I think wise) to donate blood to yourself for nearly any planned surgical proceedure, but I'm not exactly sure how long it keeps. I think they freeze it and it can be kept for quite some time, though, at least a year I think, but am not sure. I hope you get an answer from a doctor or medical professional here soon. If you find out through other means, come back and enlighten us. :-)
