Ultrasound reveals fetal measurements don't match

Hi!

My friend is pg with her second baby, due in Jan. She also has possible cervical cancer to add to all of this.. which apparantly the doctors found something about 2 years ago and nothing was done... but anyway... She had a sonogram done back in Sept. and it said out of the head, the abdomen, and the femur bone, one of those measurments was way off compared to the other two. She can't remember which one, and hasn't asked since then. I asked if they were going to refer her on to a specialist, and she said no, she would go back to the doctor the middle of Oct. Well, at that appointment, she was told that the doctor "had some concerns". I asked what he meant, and she said she didn't know. And I guess she didn't ask. They STILL aren't checking with another sonogram or referring her on to a specialist or anything. I'm VERY worried. My husband asked her if this doctor is an OB, and she says that he is. So why isn't he taking more of an interest in this? What could be wrong with the baby? Has anyone had this happen and can give some insight? I don't want to worry her, but I DO want to alert her that she needs to get on the ball and find out if something can be done now while the baby is in utero. She isn't normally a shy person, so I don't understand WHY she isn't taking a stand and demanding some answers about her baby, unless she is just really afraid of finding out that her baby could have some problems.

Sorry for the long post... if anyone has any advice, suggestions, input, insight, ANYTHING, I would REALLY appreciate it!!
