Re: Jaw pain. Mystery solved!! Yeah!From: Marshella (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Oct 1999 19:00:42 -0500 (CDT)
Ahhh, more proof that I'm not a doctor or dentist and shouldn't act like one. :-) LOL. Just kidding. I just try to be helpful with my limited personal experience. Seriously, though, even the doctors here couldn't diagnose based on the limited reported symptoms that someone is saying they have. I'm sure if one here had examined you they would have come up with that diagnosis as well. However, I would tend to think that you could have mentioned that you had or were just getting over some kind of sinus or "head cold" or other similar infection. OR were you completely unaware that you had this? I mean, the pain was only local to the jaw and no other symptoms? It was a major clue I overlooked when you mentioned it seemed to go to your ear! But I don't know if TMJ could cause ear pain (I would think it could). Yet, I do know how it feels to have cloggy feeling ears and eustacian (spelling?) tube infections. Yuck! And those painful, pressuring sinus infections. Definately gives me the feeling of "achy bones" and teeth when I have those. Interesting that they can also cause the jaw joint area to hurt as well. Makes sense, and glad its never been that bad for me. Hope you feel better real soon and thanks so much for enlightening us here on what was actually causing your pain. :-) Glad it wasn't anything more serious!
