There are many explanations, the majority of which are totally benign. that being said, under no circumstance should this be ignored. No disrespect to your midwife, but at the very least (unless it is so totally normal as to be beyond suspicion) a sonogram. If necessary, a visit to a breast specialist.

A figure I cannot promise is correct but is my recollection is the rate of breast cancer in pregnancy is about 1 in 3000.
