tear in sacFrom: Stephanie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 22 Oct 1999 13:40:41 -0500 (CDT)
I am 12 weeks pregnant for the 3rd time. With my first child we learned that I have a heart-shaped uterus. With the 2nd child, I had some bleeding occur around 10 weeks and found that I had a 30% tear in the lining of the sac. I was restricted to the bed for 4 days and for the following 6 weeks could only do light activities. I remained at 30% until delivery. At 6 weeks into this pregnancy, we learned I had a 20% tear and then a wk and a half later had grown to 40%. For the last 3 weeks I have been restricted to the couch and bed. I go back in a week for a 4th ultra sound to see if the tear in the chorion has re-attached any. All my doctor could tell me was that this occurs in 5% of pregnancy's. He could not give me any information as to the cause of this "condition" or what the odds are of this occuring again if we get pregnant a 4th time. I am basically asking for any information to help me understand if there are any factors as to why this occurs via articles or a web page. I would appreciate any help that you might could give me.
