Although this sequence is unlikely, it is necessary to mention it to patients along with the possibility of transfusion. I believe your doctor may not have said that "a removal of my uterus maybe possible" but rather "a removal of my uterus maybe necessary". Speak to your doctor about your concerns. Depending upon the type of hospital you will deliver at, is it possible another experienced obstetrician might be able to scrub with your doctor or have a high risk pregnancy expert consult and assist your doctor?
