Fibroids during pregnancy & hysterectomy at c-section

I am 28 yrs old, 32 wks. pregnant and my dr. discovered rather large fibroids at my first ultrasound. I have been having ultrasounds every 6 wks. since that time and baby is doing fine and I have had minimal side effects from the fibroids. One of the fibroids is completely blocking my cervix so I will need a c-section about 6 wks from now. My dr. mentioned a removal of my uterus maybe possible during my c-section. She explained due to bleeding. This is our first child and I want to avoid at all cost having my uterus removed at such a young age. Are there alternatives to bleeding and to hysterectomy when you are delivering by c-section???
