Wow what an amazing difference in Births!!!(My son Brett's is at:http://member.aol.com/Christypol/Birth.html)

Pitocin was started about 9:30am(due to high BP and being 41 weeks) after 3 tries to get an IV!!! I got an intrathecal at 2:30 and it wore off by 5:30..I was checked and was only 5cm..70%..-1. I had asked to have the epi cathader started when I got the intrathecal(I was afraid it would wear off) so all I needed was the meds. put into it right??? WRONG!!! it took the Anestiologist 45 minutes to get there. then after he put in the test meds. my nurse checked me...Complete!!! YUP 5-10 cm in about 45 minutes...everyone rushing around paging my Doctor...etc...I was half laughing thinking It took 3 1/2 hours to get Brett out so why were they rushing??? 6:30 started pushing... 6:40 doc. arrived...(asked IF he had TIME to change) 6:45 doc came into room having changed into scrubs.. 6:47 told to slow down pushing to ease the baby OUT??? 6:50pm My baby girl was born. No cuts,or tears and I am home and feeling great after only 24 hours. The only pain I have is cramping when I nurse...Tylenol helps. Riley had a bit of fluid in her lungs from being born so quick, but they "flushed" her out and said she should be fine. She has lots of black hair(where did that come from???) she has a little broken blood vessel in her eye from being born too quick(IRONY: Brett had one from being born to slow). She is breastfeeding well even though my milk has yet to come in. Better go she will be hungry soon and wake up.
