Timeframe for HCG decline in complete molar pregnancyFrom: bbott (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Sep 1999 11:15:46 -0500 (CDT)
I am 27 and was diagnosed with a complete molar pregnancy 4 weeks ago. I had a D&C three weeks ago and have been following up with my ob/gyn weekly for blood tests. Prior to the D&C my hcg level was 141,000. The first follow-up blood test revealed a significant decline to 7800, however, the second only showed levels dropping to 6900. I am concerned that my hcg levels are not decreasing quickly enough. What is a reasonable timeframe to expect to return to 0? And after how much elapsed time should another procedure be recommended?
