I know you feel like nothing is happening but it is. These practice contractions are getting baby into position and have actually thinned out your cervix which is usually the hardest part. Mother nature usually knows best and leaving it to her is best. If you were being induced you would often be doing this part of your labor in bed connected to monitors and put on a time schedule which could predispose you to a C/Section. It sounds like mother nature is working well for you. Be thankful and patient. I have no way of knowing how long it will take, but it sounds like your body knows what to do. Enjoy. And best wishes.
