Re: IRON Cervix that won't dilateFrom: vicki (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 24 Sep 1999 18:18:23 -0500 (CDT)
the fact that vacuum and forcewps were used twice in your first birth doesnt mean the same "complications" will arise. there is no indication of how patient the doctor doing the delivery was, or what kind of shape you were in at the time, as well as whether or not you had any anethesia which does indeed affect a woman's ability to push her baby out. (I know i may be starting a flam war with this, but it is true) having said that. ways to start labor naturally: blue or black cohosh sexual activity nipple stimulation lots of walking at a rate of 4 mile/hour evening primrose oil on the cervix will help to soften and dialate - you might check with your doctor to be certain about intact membranes because if your membranes are not intact the risk of infection increases and you DO NOT want a lot of "things/stuff" in your vagina. that is all i can think of at the moment. good luck!
