Re: Hypnotized during labor

Hi! I personally have taken care of more than one patient who has been hypnotized and done very well with their labor. One patient actually came in complete and delivered within a few minutes after she arrived. Another came in at 4-5 cms and labored without any intervention and delivered nicely. The key here is the total relaxation just lets things happen without the tense pelvic floor slowing everything down. In each instance it was a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist that did this. Some even specialize in labor pain or pain relief. I would probably suggest calling around and checking it out. Granted I was never a patient. And I was very sceptical but every case I have personally seen had wonderful labors and deliveries. Kathy
