Bloody cervical mucus along with cramping?From: kml (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 20 Sep 1999 10:04:40 -0500 (CDT)
My husband and I are trying to conceive our first child. I'm 38 nearing 39. Last month, I may have had a very, very early miscarriage. I had a gray clump pass along with a fairly normal cycle. If it wasn't a miscarriage, I don't know what it is. I've never seen anything like that. I had been having breast soreness, hypersensitivity to smell/odors and a few other interesting things going on. This month, I started having the sore breasts, fullness feeling in belly, lots of emotions from about ovulation point on (not usual for me). Then last week about 6 days before my period was expected (I'm very regular and have been all my life) I had what I can only describe as bloody cervical mucus. It was pinkish/red to brown, thickish and tacky. It never got onto my underwear but was there everytime I used the restroom and used toliet paper. Along with it were sharp cramps more on my left side. The only time I didn't feel them was when laying flat on my back. This lasted for 3 days and tapered off for the most part. (This was last Tuesday through Friday.) I called the doctor's office and got the nurse who's answer to me was "cycles change". I did get her to run a pregnancy test last Thursday which was negative (probably 12 days post ovulation if I calculated that right though I could be off). Yesterday/today is the day for my period to start. It hasn't yet but I have the feelings that I normally get (not really cramping but a dull ache). I will see the doctor later today but I am open to any ideas of what is going on with me this cycle. Thanks, Kathy
