rise in Beta hcg level

I had my first test done on the 12th and the beta hcg level was 16983.5 yesterday I did the second test the level increased to 18949.6. Actually according to my lpm i should be 11 wks pregnant...last friday I had my first ultrasound and it did not seem as if i was that many weeks pregnant. the ultrasound barely showed a fetal pole and no heart beat.... i have very irregular periods...so it could be that i am less that six weeks... my gyn told me to test my blood for beta hcg level. on sunday i started spotting but with no cramps at all... this is going on...on and off till date....and the test results are here... can any one tell me if this serious or not...
