Ability to conceive at 36 without clomidFrom: Olivia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 13 Sep 1999 18:56:04 -0500 (CDT)
I am 36 years old and have five children. I am wanting to conceive again before my biological clock stops ticking. My baby is now 13 months old and was breastfed until about 10 weeks ago. There was no apparent cycling taking place while I was breastfeeding it was the same when breastfeeding my other children. When my baby was weaned I began taking my temperature daily and checking for mucus signs. My BBT went up and there were mucus changes and fourteen days later I began to bleed. It was a reasonably heavy bleed and lasted the normal 5-6 days. I am now on day 24 and my temperature has stayed at around the 35.8 to 36.1. There has been no significant mucus changes. There is low pelvic discomfort which is probably not significant but I was found to have a fibroid during my last pregnancy. Because of dysfunctional bleeding before that pregnancy I was placed on Provera which zapped all my estrogen and was at a level of 15. I took clomid for five days and conceived instantly. Do you think I should take clomid now to achieve this pregnancy or am I just too impatient. Many thanks.
