Ovulation tests and positive pregnancy ?From: Jill (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 13 Sep 1999 17:32:14 -0500 (CDT)
I had two extra First Response ovulation test leftover from this cycle. So I thought I would try one to see what it would show. Well on cycle day 28 of a 26 day cycle it showed positive, I mean a strong positive. I thought that maybe it was a bad test so I did the other one , with the same results. So I called the company to ask them about why this would happen and they said that if you are on any medicine for fertility for going thru menopause that it may give a false reading. I explained that I am not taking any meds, and I know that I am not going thru menopause. Then I explained that I have not started a period yet. She then said that if your were already pregnant it would show positive too. That the LH hormone and the HCG hormone can mixed and show positive. I have never heard of this before. Can this happen or they just trying to cover-up for their test being misleading ??? I haven't tested for pregnancy yet, was waiting for a few more days to pass. What do you think about their information??? Just wondering Jill
