Re: Early Engagement and PIH

I was induced at 37 weeks due to PIH and low amniotic fluid. When I checked into the hospital to start the induction, I was already in the early stages of labor. I believe that my body was also going into labor early because it was time to have my baby, she was getting distressed. Don't know how valid my feelings were. She was also nicely engaged when I came to the hospital, she had dropped a lot as my uterus barely came above my belly button. The nurses were shocked at how tiny I was, which was the whole reason I was there (low fluid)!

I did have a lot of BH contractions during my pregnancy, so maybe I was just destined to have her early anyway. I asked my doctor a similar question as you have asked and he kind of dismissed it.

Hope on the docs answers your questions, I'd be curious to know, too.

BTW, due to my body doing some of the work early, my induction was pretty quick and successful! Good luck!
