If you are a few weeks off, you may see that much anticipated heartbeat on your next ultrasound -- and come to find that you are only 5 -6 weeks and not 8. HCG levels would be helpful here. With levels >2500, a heartbeat is usually seen on transvaginal ultrasound -- but not always (my level was about 3500 when I had an ultrasound not showing a heartbeat -- after crying all weekend, I had another US 2 days later and saw the heartbeat. My daughter is 9 months, 1 week old!) I hope for the best for you. Never give up hope.
