question re: future pregnancies

Hi. I used to read and ask questions of all of you quite frequently and now I have another. I delivered a wonderful baby girl almost 6 months ago after a relatively difficult pregnancy. I had unbelievable morning (ha) sickness for the entire pregnancy, developed a symptomatic heart murmer/palpitations by the 4th month, went into premature labor in the 6th month requiring bedrest and medication until 36 weeks. At that point my morning sickness became extremely severe and even with Zofran could only keep down a meal every 30-40 hours or so. At 36 1/2 weeks I was induced due to moderate/severe PIH. The only positive thing about the pregnancy (besides my daughter) was the fact that I had gained barely 15 pounds because of being so sick so I didn't have to lose much weight. I had my annual exam a few weeks ago and my dr. asked about whether I planned to get pregnant again. Believe it or not, I do (which is a great testiment to my doctor who is amazing- otherwise I wouldn't consider it). Anyhow, I asked him if I could do anything to prevent the same things from happening again. He said that there wasn't really anything I could do and that in all likelyhood it wouldn't happen again. I do trust him, but figured I'd throw out the same question to all of you doctors ( and readers) who I also trust. I don't think any answers would change my future plans, but I do want to do anything possible to have a healthier pregnancy. I can't imagine a repeat performance with a toddler to take care of. Thanks so much, and i apologize for the length of this.
