Re: blighted ovumFrom: Shonna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 8 Sep 1999 12:56:44 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Sheila - I'm 29 yrs old and was just told last night that I'm probably miscarrying due to a blighted ovum. The doctor said that these are random and that no one knows at this point why they happen, but that the chances of having a healthy pregnancy are in the high 80%. I've also had 2 ectopic pregnancies and was told that I only had a 16% chance of it happening again, and the last one was just last March, so I understand the pain, frustration and fear that comes from losing 2 in a row like that. I don't understand why you're having such a hard time getting to talk to anyone at all to answer your questions! Why is that? Did they give you a reason? Where are you that they're not taking care of you and answering your questions?! If there's anything I can do to help - I know it's months since you'd posted this note, but dang, still...I'm curious! I hope that this helps... ~Shonna
