I had a similar experience. I had a pregnancy test that was negative and later would turn positive. This also happened at the doc. office. so the next day went back to the Dr. office and recieved the blood test. It came back 52. It had been at least 2 weeks since intercourse. When I had intercourse, I was already 2 days late. So now I was at least 2 weeks late. 4 days later after the 52 HCG level i went back to have another test done and it was 329, there seem to be no concern there. 11 days later while at work it seemed like I was losing a little bit of fluid. I thought how weird feels like when my water broke with my son. so i went to the restroom where i found i was bleeding a little bit. I was not as worried because I bled with my daughter around 9 weeks and the Dr. thought I was 6-7 now. So I went back to working. Not 2 minutes later it did it again but a little more. Now I was sure something was not right.I went to the Dr. and within the hour it took to get there had used one pad for the blood. When he examined me he said there was just a little spotting and sent to have a blood test (which would not come back till the next day) and to have an ultrsound by the end of the week. Well, after some words I got my ultrasound the next day they could not find a sac. However when my blood test came back it showed my level to be at 13,870.!!!! So the doctor on duty that day said that ruled out miscarriage. He said it meant that it was either eptopic or to soon to see the sac and sent me to the University Hospital. There repeat ultrasounds were done and they too found no sac. However, there was a 5 cm. cist by my tube. so they went in for an eptopic. Because of my past surgeries they could not do it "laser" they had to cut me open. Well, as it turns out that was not an eptopic afterall but a cist. They took care of the cist and while they were in there, they went ahead and did a DandC. I am not sure why . Well, that was on late wed. night.2 nights later.(friday night) They did a repeat blood level and sat. morning it came back higher!!!!! It came back 17,000. Then on Monday did another test and it came back 24,000. still going higher but now not doubling the way it should. So Tuesday, (next day) they redid the D&C and got what they needed to.and three days later I was back to 1,580 so it was going back down. My question, I guess is why was a D&C done in the first place. I ask and never get a straight answer. Whats done is done but that is what i do not understand. I have 2 healthy children at home and happy with them but I have some questions and just thought maybe you might know the answer to this one. take care and enjoy your little one.
