Products of conception analysis

Suffered third miscarriage at 9 weeks pregnant. I do have a healthy 14 month old, born between miscarriage 2 and 3.

My doctor had products of conception which I collected sent to pathologist. My doctor called and told me the results of the analysis showed some normal degenerated pregnancy tissue, however, the pathologist also came across "undetermined tissues". The pathologist instructed my doctor to have me in for an ultra sound and some other possible tests. When I asked my doctor if this was usual to not be able to identify tissue in such an analysis he simply stated, "the pathologist just asked me to do an ultra sound" He is a great doctor and I am not trying to find fault with him - I sense that perhaps he has some suspicions that he does not want to discuss over the telephone.

My questions are:

Is it normal while analizing the products of conception, to not be able to determine what some of the tissues are?

If said "undetermined tissues" exist, what could it mean? Does it indicate that a certain condition could exist? If so, what? Thanks for any help.
