Chris, There is no problem with you continuing to breastfeed while you are pregnant. Your doctor should say it's fine unless you are a high risk for miscarriage. I'm pregnant with my 5th child. With the exception of the first, I was nursing when I got pregnant with each one. I nursed for about 2-3 months into each pregnancy. How long into the pregnancy you nurse is your choice. You have to decide if you want to continue nursing your older child as well as the baby[tandem nursing]. I wasn't sure if that was what I wanted to do so I stopped nursing about 2-3 months into each pregnancy. I felt that way there would be enough time for the older child to forget and he/she wouldn't be jealous. It's worked great for me so far. Nurse your first child as long as you can. As you know, it's the best thing you can do for him/her. If you are looking for more info and wonderful support, contact your local La Leche League group. They are great. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any more questions and think I can help. Celeste
